[UPDATE]: scratch the liive-blogging thing. doing a bit of video instead.

I’ve already blogged about Copenhagen Twestival over at Re: but I thought I’d give a shout out to the project and the two great Danes who spearhead the event here at appoulsen.dk as well (nice one guys – you ROCK).

Tonight a bunch of twitter-users all over the world will meet up in a bunch of cities and raise a bunch of Benjamins to secure clean water where it is most needed. While the Copenhagen event is sold out, I still suggest you get out your virtual wallet and give!

While the obvious choice would be to tweet my ass off tonight, I’m considering a bit of light live-blogging instead. Mainly because I miss blogging, and WordPress 2.7 is SO sweet, I feel like looking at it all the time.

The programme for the evening looks good, so there should be plenty of stuff to write about.

See ya there – or here.

Some of you may have read my Danish scriblings over at supersocial.dk. It’s been a while (to say the least) since I posted anythng overthere, and the reason for this is quite simple.

Since joining Re: I’ve put my blog energy into getting Re:thinking – (our company blog) off the ground. I think the guys at Re: did a killer job on our new site (based on WordPress), and it’s crucial for me to contribute to the blog. Maintaining two Danish blogs is too much for me to cope with at this moment, so I had to make a choice, and it was a no-brainer. I’m a Re: guy now

That being said, I quite like my supersocial domain, and I’ve been struggling with a way to put it to good use. As of now, it’ll be an aggregated blog (running on tumblr) of stuff about social software. It runs on feeds from my delish-bookmarks (tagged social), Flickr-pics (tagged social), posts from this blog and the one at Re:, Tweets, shared articles from my Google reader and some other stuff.

So consider it my personal social media filter. I hope some of you can put some of it to good use, and if not you can still follow my posts in Danish at Re:thinking.

Enjoy.

‘it’s been a long time / shouldn’t have left you / without a dope beat to step to’

…so for now I’ll point you in the direction of a few interesting developments among my friends and former colleagues.

Søren Smidt recently launched his blog – main focus is design, but mr. Smidt also covers music, all things mac and other topics.

Also, Tony Lorentzen just started blogging. Welcome to the ‘sphere, Tony – looking forward to your posts!

And finally, Flash dude extraordinaire Mads B launched his site @ madsb.com. He started off working with WordPress, but went Drupal along the way – a fine choice, and nice work by mr. Bjerre.

There – that should tie you over for a few days, while I get my own shit together. I for one know that I’ll be following these gentlemen and there continued ventures.

I was an avid user of Flock a while back, but I went back to Firefox after a series of unexplainable crashes. However, I recently decided to give Flock another try, and man am I glad I did. The social web browser is just about to go 1.0 (currently 0.9.1.2) and it is bigger and badder than ever.

I’m a sucker for Google’s products, I’ll admit to that. So far I think the only product I don’t use (anymore) is Blogger, and that’s just because – in my view – WordPress is in a league of it’s own when it comes to free blog-software.

Anyway, I’m also kind of a sucker for all things Apple. Yes, they could be friendlier on the environment, yes they could be more open in their communication, yes their customer service leaves much to be desired, etc.

But their products are just so damn cool!

So why am I talking about Google and Apple? Well, after installing gDisk on my MacBook I’ve decided not to renew my .mac membership next time around. It’s just not worth it.

gDisk is freeware. All it really does is allow you to create folders in your empty gmail space (none of us are really USING 3 gigs, are we?) and upload to these folders from your mac just as you would with iDisk. You can then access these folders and download your files from any other computer with gDisk on it.

SpanningSync takes care of syncronising my iCal and gCal and now iDisk provides me with the one thing I really found useful in .mac – the online storage space (The other features are pretty much covered by Flickr and WordPress). With gDisk I even get three times (and counting) the space compared to the standard one gig .mac subscription.

€99 a year saved. Bye bye iDisk.
