First up, the excitement. As of tomorrow I start in a new job at Nordisk Film/Egmont in Valby. As part of a new digital unit I’ll hold the title of Digital Marketing Manager, and have the unequivocal goal of ensuring Egmont’s position as a major player in digital and social marketing within the publishing industry. I cannot even begin to describe, how thrilled I am to have been given this opportunity, and I cannot wait to get started.

Then why sad? Well, for the past two years (and a couple of months), I have worked with a couple of the most awesome people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. People who have grown from being colleagues and business partners to being friends that are near and dear to my heart. Taking on a new position obviously means leaving my old job at Re:, and that was not an easy decision to make. However, I have complete faith that the guys in Bredgade will continue making great websites and digital solutions, and I wholeheartedly encourage anyone looking to do projects involving Ruby on Rails, WordPress, Drupal, 2D barcodes or most any other digital discipline to give them a ring. They really do rock!

Mehlbye, Vesters – thanks for an awesome couple of years. It’s been a blast and I’m happy to have gotten to know you! And we WILL get together soon, right?

To all of the people with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working throughout my time at Re: (clients and partners alike) – thanks for making every day different and interesting.

And now to step up to new challenges. It is going to be good.

Poets And Plumbers / MySpace.

I just hosted a seminar alongside Poets and Plumbers. It was all about MySpace – where are they at right now, how do they view their position in the Danish market (dominated by Facebook) and finally – and most interestingly – what they future holds for one of the grand old players on the social networking scene.

I must say, I’m pretty impressed by the plans forming at MySpace, and by their aproach when it comes to localisation. As the image shows, MySpace are comitted to a local presence in a host of different markets (Denmark among others), and actually managed to become THE social network in Germany, probably because of a very early localised version.

Anyhoo – watch out for MySpace in 09. There are some very interesting things just around the corner. Especially if you’re into music. Actually, if you can get your hands on an American I.P. adress you can check out some of the new stuff already.

Since joining Re: I’ve put my blog energy into getting Re:thinking – (our company blog) off the ground. I think the guys at Re: did a killer job on our new site (based on WordPress), and it’s crucial for me to contribute to the blog. Maintaining two Danish blogs is too much for me to cope with at this moment, so I had to make a choice, and it was a no-brainer. I’m a Re: guy now

That being said, I quite like my supersocial domain, and I’ve been struggling with a way to put it to good use. As of now, it’ll be an aggregated blog (running on tumblr) of stuff about social software. It runs on feeds from my delish-bookmarks (tagged social), Flickr-pics (tagged social), posts from this blog and the one at Re:, Tweets, shared articles from my Google reader and some other stuff.

So consider it my personal social media filter. I hope some of you can put some of it to good use, and if not you can still follow my posts in Danish at Re:thinking.
