The Swedes put on a great conference, and though the internet connection was crummy (to say the least), the organisers deserve much praise.

A couple of sessions really hit home with me, and left me inspired and energised. Among these were:

Paolo Antonelli’s opening keynote:

Björn Jeffrey’s talk on digital toys

Amber Case on cyborg anthropology

Bill Drummond’s out there “The17″ keynote (sorry, no video)

And Tine Thygesen’s session on drisruption.

Featuring Luke Williams

All in all, a good two days in Malmö, more take aways than I’m used to, and I for one won’t hesitate to return next year. Enjoy the vids.

You should read his blog. It’s awesome! And if you’ve seen the show you’ll have noticed that it has a significant role in defining Barney as a character.

Also – it’s a good example of how fictional use of social media can be well integrated into entertainment.

Today was my last day at Wemind, and it’s been a wild ride – I’ve hooked up with some really cool people in my time here, and I’m positive that I’ll be crossing paths with a bunch of them again in the future. And speaking of the future – what’s in store for me? Well…

As of monday morning I am my own boss. I’ll be consulting on social software and web communications, and the name of my itty bitty business i supersocial (the name is in Danish – hence one word. The site is in Danish too, mind you).

I’ll be working closely with a couple of different players in the game, and hopefully I’ll be formalising a cooperation before too long. More to come on that matter.

MAN does this feel weird. And good

A recent survey shows that only seven out of 58 PR agencies in Denmark have their own blog (In Danish). Still you can most likely get advice on blogging from way more than the seven who blog themselves.

Now does this have to present a problem?

Well, I’m not quite sure, to be honest. I guess you could write off some of it with the old saying about the shoemaker’s barefooted children, but still.

Would you buy a car from someone who doesn’t drive?

Would it make you feel more or less comfortable to know that your bank contact has messy finances?

Vegetarian butcher?

Lactose intolerant cheese monger?

And so on and so forth. You get the point.

I guess it all boils down to trust. If you trust your adviser to give you good advice, then by all means, go ahead.

But remember that the utmost way to learn about blogging is to blog.

I’d love to see a survey showing how many (or how few) web agencies blog, by the way – I imagine they’d be the most popular alternative to PR agencies when shopping for social media.
