One of the things I like about blogs is that they seem to bring out the passion in people. Once someone has chosen a topic that they are genuinely nuts about, there’s just no stopping the posts. It’s a beautiful thing, really – and passion is contageous.
One of the best examples I can come up with right now is my good friend Thomas, who – besides blogging for mobile media company 3, over at Danish-language 3Blog.dk (I had a hand in that project at a very early stage, but I think I’ve mentioned that before) and doing a damn fine job at it, also blogs about his favourite passtime, fishing.
Frankly, it’s inspiring to read how he loves baiting his hook and being at one with nature once in a while, but also how he is genuinely concerned about the state of rivers and creeks that he so enjoys to visit – and, of course, about his manic infatuation with the gear. That man would give his right arm for the right pole, right T?
If I had the necessary patience, I would love to join him on a fishing trip, but for now I’ll stick to reading about it and maybe listening to a good old fisherman’s tale over a beer once in a while.
Read ‘Lystfiskerliv’ for yourself to see what I mean – mind you, it’s in Danish, and I hear rumours it might be moving to its very own domain at some point. For now you’ll find it at http://www.sonderstrupwolf.dk/lystfiskerliv.html
If you have good examples of blogs that display genuine passion, please drop me a link in a comment. I collect them, you know…
