Sometimes I wonder if the best way to explain ‘live web’ phenomena to people that are interested but have little knowledge on the subject wouldn’t simply be to get them started publishing themselves?
I mean, two or three days into blogging you just KNOW if this is something that gets your blood pumping, right?
When I bought my sister a Flickr Pro-account, it was a matter of days before she’d posted hundreds of images on it!
In my view, it’s kind of like when you go to your first football match, rock concert or art show – it hits you if it hits you – and explanations may be fine and good, but it’s your presence that makes all the difference. I do belive the same principle applies to the web.
Of course you need to understand your medium – especially if you’re representing a company or organisation – but somtimes, shouldn’t you just get goin’? Blog now – ask questions later?
