Fate Made Him A Warrior, Courage Made Him A Hero

Went to see Jet Li’s Fearless last night, and I am well impressed!

Leaving the theatre feeling like a martial arts master is no new experience to me, but doing so and at the same time feeling moved by the aesthetics of a piece of cinema doesn’t happen often.

Jet Li and Ronny Yu have, with maticulous (and almost chaligraphy-like) attention to details and visuals, created a unique little piece.

No doubt, it mostly revolves around the fighting, which is superbly choreographed and executed – almost ballet-like. But the storyline – however banal – is told with an effectful subtlety and the images of China in the midst of a chaotic period in the nation’s history are equally stunning…

Go see this film. You won’t regret it and I guarantee you’ll feel like a martial arts master when you leave the theatre!
